Important: Highest security level protection (password protection) and frequent change of
password are recommended to protect your phone and data from unauthorized
access.
Use Face Unlock
1.
From the Home screen, tap > Settings > Lock screen > Screen lock > Face
Unlock.
2.
Read the message displayed and tap Set it up.
3.
Read the message displayed and tap Continue.
4.
Using the front camera, adjust the phone so that your face fits in the area outlined with
the dots on the screen.
5.
The message “Face captured.” appears when the Face Unlock set up was successful.
Tap Continue.
6.
You will be prompted to set up a backup lock. Select Pattern or PIN and set it up. See
Use Pattern to follow or Use PIN on page 140.
To unlock the screen with Face Unlock:
Turn on the phone and look at the front camera so that it recognizes you.
If it fails to recognize you, a backup lock screen appears. Enter a pattern or PIN to
unlock.
Use Pattern
1.
From the Home screen, tap > Settings > Lock screen > Screen lock > Pattern.
2.
Draw the screen unlock pattern by connecting at least four dots in a vertical, horizontal,
or diagonal direction. Lift your finger from the screen when finished.
3.
The phone records the pattern. Tap Continue.
4.
When prompted, draw the screen unlock pattern again, and then tap Confirm.
5.
You will be prompted to choose your backup PIN. See Use PIN to follow.
To unlock the screen with Pattern:
Draw the pattern on the locked screen.
Note: Clear the Make pattern visible check box if you do not want the unlock pattern to
display on the screen when you draw it.
